Art 2.0 of the Deal:
Donald J. Trump Hits the Wall

Written and Illustrated by CATHY HULL

Art 2.0 of the Deal: Donald J. Trump Hits the Wall is the cautionary tale of a self-proclaimed “stable genius” and modern day dystopian anti-hero à la Winston in George Orwell’s 1984. The “outsider” President soon proves himself to be unprepared and unfit to deal with a global pandemic that threatens the lives of U.S. citizens. More importantly to this incumbent, the “invisible enemy” endangered Trump’s campaign and prospects for reelection.

This art hysterical tour de farce — a portrait of our time — is a GPS thru the Twilight Zone, filled with iconic visual CliffsNotes mile markers to art history, a reality show president, partisan politics, deals, corruption, the coronavirus pandemic, and a New Normal where life and fact are immeasurably stranger than fiction.

The award-winning illustrator/author, Cathy Hull, skillfully guides readers through the harrowing twists and hairpin turns of the 2020 political landscape, 45’s motivations and machinations, and the resulting unintended consequences. Fasten your seatbelt, it’s a bumpy ride!

Tired of all the rhetoric, pontification, and analysis? Just kick back and enjoy the artwork. Get the picture?

Art 2.0 of the Deal opens with Trump’s acquittal following his impeachment where the author's debut book, Art 101 of the Deal: Donald J. Trump Off the Wall left off. It concludes with the ultimate made-for-TV season finale or perhaps series cliffhanger: an uncertain future to be determined by voters in what conspiracy theorists such as POTUS himself call “a rigged election.” The inefficiency of the electoral system combined with slow mail delivery during a pandemic are cause for concern; the plot never ceases to thicken. Take a front row seat and view the Trump Show in vivid detail and living color.

Be aware, there is no intermission. This president, in effect, called dibs on the election avowing defeat was neither an option nor a possibility. Stay tuned. See what happens….

Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Cathy Hull continue to be the gift that keeps on giving. Laughter is infectious. Pass it on.

★★★★★ Nothing short of genius
Jerelle NYT OP-ED Art Director and author of *All the Art Fit to Print (and some that wasn't)**

Since the fanaticism phenomenon isn’t going away, we have, thank Goddess, Cathy Hull.

Art 2.0 of the Deal: Donald J. Trump Hits the Wall is a masterpiece. It trumps even Hull's first Trump treatise—a hard trick to pull off, given that the first was spot on. By targeting specific players and details in the debacle, Hull drives a scalpel.

The drawing, the writing, the quotes—“I did more in 47 months as president than Joe Biden did in 47 years”—and the wit with which Hull appropriates the familiar work of artists from Michelangelo to Magritte—is nothing short of genius.

Buy this book for yourself and everyone you know. As the Op-Ed art director fortunate enough to work with the delightful, demanding, ingenious Cathy Hull during my years at the New York Times, I guarantee that Art 2.0 of the Deal will dazzle your eyes, delight your mind, and enliven your coffee table.

★★★★★ A Hull of a home run!
“Art 101 of the Deal – Trump Off the Wall” depicted Trump to a “T”. “Art 2.0 Of The Deal: Donald J. Trump Hits the Wall” scores another home run. Brilliant, witty, ‘predictive and addictive’ with its sad recognition of what Trump is and stands for. Hull combines a sense of history and reality (so we never forget what we lived through) -with a talent for making us laugh in the tragic/comedy of what we will always remember as not to be believed in our history. Her artistic and literary wizardry combine to take us on a kaleidoscopic journey which alternatively make us laugh and cry. Her craft has created an epitaph to a dark chapter and, uncannily, leaves the reader with a dark sense of what has been and may still come from Trump (see, eg..”Law & Disorder” before the Capitol Attack). And Hull also leaves the reader with a sense of brighter times ahead.

★★★★★ This book will make you laugh, now that we can almost stop crying
”At a time when every day brings new, petulant, childish (altho that seems unfair to children) actions on the part of DJT, this book is a joy to behold. Unlike its subject it is grown-up, sophisticated, truthful, thoughtful, insightful. And fun! If you're an art collector, museum goer or just plain looking for a pick up, this is it.”

★★★★★ Book is AMAZING!!!!
“This book combines serious quotes with hilarious pictures. Incorporating Trump and his crew into classic masterpieces that are known and loved by all. I think someday when we look back on all of this -- many schools will use this as a textbook to teach what happened. I recommend the book to all.”

★★★★★ Jonathan Swift Mark L. Levine The Trial of the Chicago Seven author/ editor.

A remarkable and devastating satire. Writer/illustrator Hull is a cross between Jonathan Swift and Thomas Nast.

★★★★★ A brilliant and literary compendium!
A compendium of Trump’s monstrocities, with ingenious art that beautifully brings his evil alive.

★★★★★ Bravissimo!
“My review for Ms. Hull’s first book, is equally true for this, her second. And more so. So here it is: What a pleasure to experience, witness, and enjoy a real artist at work, a consummate artist, and one with so many talents! This book is amazing: witty, thought provoking, deep, insightful. There’s clarity, detail, and astounding luminosity with every re-made painting! Ms. Hull is also a clever and insightful thinker and writer: she has her own sly and clear vision of the disasters Trump hath wrought, juxtaposing her own well-chosen words while also cleverly quoting the president — quotes that sadly, accurately, reveal his lack of understanding and the depth and craziness of his lies. Ms. Hull is the perfect history teacher for our times!”

★★★★★ The book has historical significance
“Hull has produced an incredibly creative satirical book, which merges real life politics with art. In years to come, readers will be able to see the craziness experienced during this time from an historical perspective. Hull has managed to cleverly hone in on the important aspects of living through a pandemic. Art 2.0 of the Deal is an important book to maintain in a collection, as is her previous satirical sequel Art 101 of the Deal.”

★★★★★ A Real Page Turner
“From his baby picture to Trump punting a la Norman Rockwell, Hull beautifully interweaves Trumps quotes with pictures of him and his entourage juxtaposed in famous paintings and illustrations. Bright, witty, ingenious. Couldn’t stop laughing. Read it!”

★★★★★ Art for and from the Ages
”If a picture is, as has been said, worth a thousand words, this book of more than 100 Art from Ages illustrations is an easy (and valuable) way to cover an important piece of US history. Drawing on great works of art from centuries past, Cathy Hull has put together a pictorial history of the Trump Administration. The artwork is great; so, too, is the commentary accompanying each illustration. Trump supporters, were they to read the book, would probably smile at many of the illustrations. As for those who opposed Trump and his attacks on civility, decency, morality, and the rule of law and science, they will find every illustration to be insightful, incredibly powerful, and, paradoxically, very funny.”

★★★★★ BUY THIS BOOK! IT'S FUNNY, CREATIVE AND A MEMORABLE STATEMENT ABOUT TRUMP
”Art 2.0 of the Deal: Donald J. Trump Hits the Wall is a book you should have in your library as a lasting reminder of Trump and his disastrous presidency. Cathy Hull is an amazingly talented satirist, artist and manages to make every page a masterpiece. A smart art book with unmatched creativity and brilliance. Will endure as a piece of history.”
